Our Alcan Tin Cloth Tool Backpack has room for warm layers, pockets for water bottles, and a large, structured front pocket with internal slots for various-sized tools. Built with our legendary Tin Cloth and reinforced with ballistic nylon, you gear will be dry and protected for the long haul. 

This full-featured backpack is built with oil finish Tin Cloth to protect your gear from rain, sleet and snow, just as it’s protected generations of loggers and sportsmen in the rain-soaked forests of the Pacific Northwest. Our Tin Cloth is a tightly-woven duck canvas from England’s British Millerain that’s been thoroughly saturated with a paraffin wax formulation for maximum water repellency. The base and front pocket are both constructed with Cordura® ballistic nylon, a midweight version of the fabric originally developed for flak jackets during WWII. This 2x2 basket-weave fabric is renowned for its exceptional abrasion resistance. For maximum water resistance, our ballistic nylon is given a double-PU treatment to ensure your gear stays dry no matter where you set the pack down. 

For load-carrying comfort mile after mile, the adjustable shoulder straps are contoured to match the shape of your body and padded with foam and breathable mesh. The nylon-webbing waist belt and sternum straps provide stability and are equipped with loops to secure the belt ends and prevent flapping in high winds. Compression straps cinch down to secure that pack with smaller loads. The back panel features the same breathable padded panels to protect against bulky objects and sweaty backs. D-rings on the shoulder straps and extensive MOLLE webbing provide plenty of attachment points for extra gear, and each side boasts a mesh pocket for bottles or quick-access items. The large front zippered pocket folds down to create a work surface and contains slotted pockets for wrenches, pliers and other tools, plus two zippered stow pockets. For even more convenience, the buckle on the top-grab handle allows the pack to be clipped onto a branch, in the truck bed or anywhere secure transport is required.
